Did You Know?

The home known as 'Boxwood' (located at 2555 Salem Pike) was so named after Thomas Turner planted the first boxwood bushes in Rutherford County in the 1840's.

Monday, September 17, 7PM: 
Donald Fann, executive director of the Cannon County Center for the Arts, will present updates on the tradition arts program at the Center.  Projects at the Center include local arts heritage, two innovative driving trails, The Cumberland Craft Trail and The Uncle Dave Macon Driving Tour, and Spring Fed Records, an independent non-profit record label.  In 2008 John Work III: Recording Black Culture won the Grammy for Best Album Notes and garnered feature articles in The New York Times and The International Herald Tribune Bruce Nemerov, wrote Grammy award winning line album notes for John Work III, formerly with the Center for Popular Music, and a musician will also present emphasis on the African American quartet of Rutherford Co.
